Painterly Play
Ladida / The elegant art of dressing children.
Objectives
The parents who frequent high-end children’s wear institution Ladida believe that clothing is a significant part of life’s momentous events.
They’re not into big box shop throwaways.
These families mark occasions with heirloom-quality pieces and navigate everyday life with a fashion-forward take.
Iconic American painter Andrew Wyeth inspired this campaign.
Wyeth’s striking, cinematic paintings are a perfect fit for the elevated, extraordinary role of children’s clothing for Ladida and, in turn, for their clients.
Production
Location / Glynis Carpenter’s Farm, Stanfordville, NY (Hudson Valley)
This project stayed close to home, literally. The pastoral beauty of Dutchess County, NY served as the perfect backdrop.
Securing six child models, accommodating their families, and keeping the production organized and on track kept us busy for an 8-hour shoot day.
Keeping the paintings in mind as we worked, interpreting each moment in a way that carefully aligned with Wyeth's work, with a more aspirational feel appropriate for children.
Post-Production: Coloring to match the painterly palette. Video editing. Gif making.
